I always carry around a pair of pliers for just this purpose

This is the first holiday outfit post of a few.  While I don't celebrate Christmas, I have many friends who do.  I played dress-up tonight to show you all of the outfits for this week.

This outfit was worn to my best friend's birthday party, which was yesterday, on her birthday.  It was quite warm, thanks to the sweater-over-long-sleeved-shirt combination.  I'm really not thrilled with how these pictures turned out.  I could get the lighting right to expose the skirt's depth, but luckily, most of you know what the Rodarte for Target skirt looks like (and might even have it yourself).

Inspiration Up The Wazoo

I'm finally getting around to posting my color post.  These are the colors I've been drawn to the most (and therefor wearing a lot).  They don't all go together, but they're all really nice separately.

I couldn't find suitable pictures for the shade of mustard that I've been wearing.  Mine is almost a dark goldenrod, but all of the ones that have been showing are very pale.  The closest thing to the color I can think of (short of taking a picture of the tights, purse, and blazer) are these shoes, courtesy of a GoogleImage search.

Red is a color that I go in and out of wearing.  I'll use it liberally for weeks and then seem to forget about it.  I bought a pair of red tights at American Apparel in October, and they're both the most expensive pair I've ever bought and the most sturdy.

I'll have the plum and the gray up some time soon.  My grandparents are up from Virginia.

Holly Cheer

I'm still working on compiling that inspiration post, but for now, here's what I wore today.  One of my favorite bloggers, Calivintage, put up an inspiration post a while back that was full of red.  I decided to incorporate the passion into my outfit.

Purple Elephants

I've been gravitating toward a lot of dark purple, red, mustard, and gray recently.  I'll have an inspiration post up soon.  I've also been wearing more hats, in part because it's been so cold recently (hovering a little bit above freezing).  I have a gray hat similar to this one, but with fewer feathers.  The feather on this hat are in the back, and aren't shown in any of these photos, unfortunately.  I'm getting used to going out in the cold more.  One day, it'll warm up and I'll enjoy this more.  I'm quite envious of all of the Southern bloggers who are still wearing short sleeves!

I'm not thrilled with how these pictures turned out.  I'll get better with practice.  I'm still learning how to use my tripod with autofocus in advance and where to position myself to get crisp pictures.

Shivering Lizards

I'm back, now that NaNoWriMo's over and I have my tripod, finally.  I got it in the mail today, and boy, is it a beauty.  I'd been holding off on trying to take Daily Wear pictures because of my lack of tripod, so here are the first fruits.

I'm going to try to post a Daily Wear at least twice a week (depending upon how inspired I'm feeling and how cold it is outside).  Next time I venture outside to shoot, I need to remember gloves- it's finally feeling like winter here in New England.

I went to New York City last weekend, and was inspired by all of the stylish people I saw all around.

I've been salivating over these boots for months, ever since I saw them in the October issue of Lucky.  They're on sale, currently, and I'm thinking about using birthday money to get them.

I found these on Piperlime the other day, and I fell in love.  They're just the right amount of funky, but they're missing an inside zip.

These are nice and simple.  I like the lacing detail, and the color is very basic.

Cooler weather has begun to infiltrate my area, and, as I'd grown out taste-wise of the coat from last year (a $20 impulsively-purchased mulberry puffer), it was time for something new.  This coat will stay with me forever.

This blog has been developing in my mind for a while now, and I'm finally putting the pen to paper, so to speak, and creating it.  It'll mainly feature my thoughts on fashion and style, my journey to creating my personal style, and photographic interludes.  There'll be lots of pictures, many words, and a healthy dose of blog links.

Enjoy!
